Overview
This half-day program is designed for groups of 20 to 120 individuals. The group is divided into teams for good-natured, team-building competitions, all while having fun. Teams navigate through ventures, exercise their left and right brain, travel from the 1950s to the 1980s, delve into nature and explore cultures.
The goal for each participant is to maximize their functionality within the team. This is achieved by enabling attendees to learn about one another in terms of strengths, processes, communication styles, attitudes toward change and performance under pressure.
For management, this is an innovative tool for discovering new talents and observing leadership qualities. A manager will be present at each station, while the teams rotate through, providing optimal exposure.
The endeavors at each station are a mix of physical, tactile, visual and verbal tasks. The activities are different from traditional scavenger hunts and ropes courses because they are not based on fitness or academia. The concentration is on discovering talents and “playing” together to complete challenges. Everyone is involved in various capacities, such as announcer, scribe and task performer. These activities fit into the following categories: Action, Nature, Mind Bender, Creativity and Internal Scavenge.
Challenge 1
David Letterman was very popular in the 90s, beating-out Jay Leno. One of his standard segments was “Stupid Pet Tricks.” In one show, Letterman hosted a dog that lapped milk out of its owner’s mouth. From that bit sprang “Stupid Human Tricks.” We all know you have something to offer. Show us what you will do for Letterman when he calls you. Each person shares something different; novel or not. Everyone earns an “A” for effort. The group will select 2 of the talents to film. It could be ear-wiggling, eye-crossing, singing while whistling, belly-rubbing in concert with head- patting or impersonating Kermit the Frog.
Challenge 2
A pictogram is a symbol representing a concept, object, activity, place or event byillustration. Pictograms are an ancient form of writing that has been used for thousands of years, where ideas are transmitted through drawings. The Fun Specialist has given you a message using physical objects and drawings to communicate a message. What is the message and what is the answer?
Finale
Teams reconvene at home base. Now is the moment everyone has been waiting for. It is the “Reveal”. This involves viewing the results of all the groups, including live demonstrations, still shots and video. This interactive crowd pleaser is a great closer for the event. Besides learning all about your colleagues, their skills sets, creativity, communication skills, this is an experience that will anchor into everyone’s hard drive memory because of the uniqueness, and comedy of it all.
